How to join Baze by Safaricom
What is Baze?
Baze is Safaricom’s subscription based video-on-demand service that would allow users to access a wide variety of local and regional short form videos in entertainment, music, news and sports.
The service itself launched this year by Safaricom is still on trial mode, the move comes after Safaricom attempts to consolidate its tech influence in East Africa.
Safaricom’s Baze will also help local content creators access a platform where they can showcase their creativity by publishing their original content and earn money out of them.
To access Baze services you have to open your web browser on your smartphone and visit www.baze.co.ke and register your profile with your name and phone number.
After registration you will need a Baze subscription, although you can still browse the platform with normal data.
There are two ways to buy a Baze subscriptions
Method 1: USSD
- Dial *544*55#
- Select Baze There are 2 different Subscription Plans Daily Pass without data at Ksh 10 Daily pass with data at Ksh 20
- Select Buy Option (Auto-Renew or One Off)
- Select Payment Option and Confirm Payment
After successful completion you will receive an SMS with a link to Baze. Tap on the link to access Baze and enjoy!
Method 2: Safaricom App
- Go to Discover
- Select Videos
- Select Buy Subscription
- Select a payment method and Confirm Payment, and tap on ‘Proceed to Baze’
