What’s Incognito?

It’s a browser add-on that helps users to browse in private, without Google or third party to know about your online activities.

The New Incognito mode will appear in a dark-themed background and a stylised spy icon at the top right of your browser.

Browsers won’t save your browsing history, cookies and other information.

Downloaded data and bookmarks created will be saved.

How to activate Incognito on your computer

1. Open Google Chrome

2. Click More on the top right

3. Select New Incognito Window

You may also use this keyboard shortcut that applies to both Windows, Linux and Chrome OS:

Press Ctrl + Shift + n

For Mac press Command + Shift + n

A new window (Incognito) will appear.

To exit Incognito mode, click on the “X” button at the top of your browser, and the Incognito window will disappear.

How to activate Incognito on an Android device (smartphone or tablet)

1. Go to Chrome app and open it

2. Tap More or the three-dot button on the top right and select New Incognito tab

To exit Incognito mode, tap on the Switch Tab icon (which appears like a square) and click on the “X” button to close the Incognito tabs.

How to activate Incognito on an iOS device (iPhone or iPad)

1. Open the Chrome app

2. Tap More, and select New Incognito Tab, and a new Incognito tab will appear

To exit Incognito mode, tap on the Switch Tab icon (which appears like a square) and click on the “X” button to close the Incognito tabs.
